RESOLUTION NO. 9053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH RECOGNIZING THE FIRST OF
MAY AS LAW DAY
WHEREAS, the First of May will be celebrated
throughout America as Law Day with the theme of "Partners
In Justice "; and
WHEREAS, the many rights and freedoms which
Americans accept as their birthright are made possible only
by our obedience to the rule of law; and
WHEREAS, on the occasion of this Nation's observance
of Law Day on May 1, let each of us seek an increased under-
standing of, and respect for the laws which unite and govern
a free people;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby recognizes May 1 as Law
Day, "Partners In Justice ", and calls upon all citizens,
organizations, churches and schools to observe this important
day as a reminder that our freedom and safety depend upon
adherence to the rule of law.
