A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING DAILY OPERATION
OF PARKING METERS IN ZONES 3, 5 AND 10, AND
• RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 7218
WHEREAS, Chapter 12.44 of Title 12 of the Newport
•
Beach Municipal Code establishes on- street parking meter zones
and sets the fees for parking in such zones and provides that
the City Council may by resolution establish off - street parking
meter zones and set the fees for parking in such zones; and
WHEREAS, said Chapter further provides that the
City Council shall by resolution designate the denomination of coins
to be deposited in parking meters, the parking time allowed
following such deposit, and the hours of the day, the days of
the week, and the weeks of the year during which deposits are
required and the meters will be in operation; and
WHEREAS, off-street parking meter zones and regulations
for the operation of parking meters were established by
Resolution No. 6969;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that it is reasonable and in the
public interest to establish daily operation of parking meters
in Parking Meter Zones 3, 5 and 10.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7218 is
hereby rescinded.
