A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ACCEPTING A GIFT FROM THE
FRIENDS OF THE NEWPORT BEACH LIBRARY FOR A
• READING AREA IN THE NEWPORT CENTER BRANCH
LIBRARY HONORING DOROTHEA SHEELY
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Newport Beach Public
Library, in celebration of their twentieth anniversary, have
offered to donate to the Newport Center Branch Library a
reading area for the public; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Newport Beach Public
Library have decided to designate said reading area in honor
of Dorothea Sheely for her thirty.years of dedicated service
as City Librarian of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, at the meeting of the Board of Library
Trustees on June 21, 1977, the motion was adopted that the
Library Board accept the generous offer of the Friends of the
Library for the gift in honor of Dorothea Sheely;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach concurs with the motion of the
Board of Library Trustees and hereby accepts the generous
donation of a reading area honoring Dorothea Sheely to the
Newport Center Branch Library.
ADOPTED this 25th day of July 1977.
