RESOLUTION NO. 9214
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT OF AN UNUSED PORTION OF 23RD
STREET AND IRVINE AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Engineer presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach on October 11, 1977,
a certain map prepared by the Public Works Department of the
City of Newport Beach marked Exhibit "A" dated September 10,
1976, showing the portion of 23rd Street and Irvine Avenue right-
of-way, which the City is considering vacating; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach approved and adopted said map on October 11, 1977, and
directed the City Clerk to file same in the proceedings for
the abandonment of said unused portion of 23rd Street and
Irvine Avenue; and
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1977, the City Council held
a public hearing for the purpose of hearing all persons
interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and
abandonment of said above - described portion of 23rd Street and
Irvine Avenue right -of -way; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines from
all of the evidence submitted that the subject portion of 23rd
Street and Irvine Avenue right -of -way described herein and more
particularly in Resolution No. 9199 is unnecessary for present
or prospective public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that said unused portion of 23rd
Street and Irvine Avenue, more particularly described as:

"Beginning at.the point of intersection of the
centerlines of 22nd Street and Irvine Avenue,
as both 22nd Street and Irvine Avenue are shown
on said map of Newport Heights; thence, North
40 000'00 ".East along said centerline of Irvine
Avenue, 582.40 feet to a point on a curve concave
Westerly and having a radius of 540.00 feet and
a central angle of 53 139'04 ", said point also
being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING, thence continu-
ing along said centerline North 40 100'00" East a
distance of 739.47 feet to a point of intersection
with the centerline of the right -of -way of 23rd
Street, as shown on said map of Newport Heights,
thence North 50 000'00" West a distance of 452.35
feet along the centerline of said 23rd Street
and terminating in the Easterly right -of -way
boundary for Irvine Avenue as said right -of -way
was dedicated per grant of easement recorded in
Book 8603, Page 885 of Official Records of Orange
County."
is hereby ordered vacated and abandoned.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby
ordered to cause a certified copy of such order attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the Office
of the County Recorder of the County of Orange.
