HomeMy WebLinkAbout9224 - Solid Waste Control Act of 1976v RESOLUTION NO. 9224 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING THE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AGENCY AS THE ENFORCEMENT • AGENCY TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THE SOLID WASTE CONTROL ACT OF 1976 WHEREAS, the Z'berg - Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976 requires that there shall be designated within each County an Enforcement Agency to carry out the provisions of the Act; and WHEREAS, the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency possesses the required capabilities in environmental health and solid waste management to implement the Z'berg- Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976; and WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Newport Beach City Council that the County of Orange and a majority of the cities within the County containing a majority of the popula- ion of the incorporated area of the County intend to designate the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency as the Enforcement Agency for the County and all cities contained within the County: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby approves the designation of the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency comprised of representatives of: (a) Director of the General Services Agency • (b) Director of the Environmental Management Agency (c) Director of the Human Services Agency (d) Orange County Vector Control District -1- r -- • (e) Orange County Division, League of California Cities as the Enforcement Agency for the County and all cities contained within the County, pursuant to subsection (a)(1) of Section 66796 of the Government Code.
