HomeMy WebLinkAbout9281 - El Camino ServiceRESOLUTION NO. 9281 A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION PRESENTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REGARDING "EL CAMINO" SERVICE 0 WHEREAS, the Counties of Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego constitute a transportation corridor; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the three counties have been working together for several years to provide rail service serving the three counties; and WHEREAS, the "E1 Camino" will commence service through the three counties on February 14, 1978, and the people of Orange County will benefit from this service; and WHEREAS, the County of Orange will benefit socially and economically because of the new convenience of rail service into and out of the County; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transit District, the Southern California Rapid Transit District, the North San Diego Transit District, and the San Diego Transit Corporation will be serving the AMTRAK stations in the three counties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does support "E1 Camino" service and commend it to the residents of Orange County; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does commend Los Angeles County Supervisor Baxter Ward for his diligence in bringing "E1 Camino" service to the Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Corridor.
