A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION
• OF CLUBHOUSE DRIVE, AND SETTING APRIL 10, 1978,
AS THE DATE FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING
THE INTENDED VACATION
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach under
the provisions of the "Public Service Easements Vacation Law"
and amendments thereto, Section 50430 et seq. of the California
Government Code, does hereby resolve and declare as follows:
SECTION 1. The public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach to order the vacation and abandonment of a portion
of Clubhouse Drive (entrance to Irvine Coast Country Club),
which is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Northeasterly right -
of -way line of East Pacific Coast Highway as
described in Parcel 2 in the Grant of Easement
recorded in Book 12277, page 1310, Official
Records, Records of Orange County, California,
said point being N. 39 038100" E. 224.62 feet
from the Easterly corner of Lot 79 in Tract
Number 1701 as shown on map recorded in Book
52, pages 9 and 10 of Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California; thence,
N. 50 022'00" W. 55 feet along said North-
easterly right -of -way line; thence, N. 39 038'
00" E. 56 feet to the beginning of a curve concave
Northerly and having a radius of 25 feet, the
center of said curve bears N. 39 038'00" E;
thence, Easterly along said curve through a
central angle of 901, an arc distance of 39.27
feet, to a line tangent; thence, N.39 038100"
E. 114.71 feet to the beginning of a curve
tangent concave Southerly and having a radius
of 120 feet; thence, Easterly along said curve
through a central angle of 901, an arc distance
of 188.50 feet, to the end of said curve; thence,
5.39 038100" W. along a line radial to last
mentioned curve a distance of 60 feet to the
• beginning of a curve concave Southerly and
having a radius of 60 feet, the center of said
curve bears S. 39 °38'00" W.; thence, Westerly
along said curve through a central angle of
900, an arc distance of 94.25 feet, to a line
tangent; thence, S. 39 038'00" W. 114.71 feet
to the beginning of a curve tangent concave
Easterly having a radius of 25 feet; thence,
Southerly along said curve through a central angle
of 900, an arc distance of 39.27 feet,:.to the end
of said curve; thence S. 39 038'00" W. 56 feet
to a point in the Northeasterly right -of -way
line of said East Pacific Coast Highway; thence
N. 50 022100" W. 55 feet along said Northeasterly
right -of -way line to the point of beginning.
Reserving therefrom an easement for traffic signal
purposes described as the Southwesterly 56 feet
thereof measured at right angles to said centerline
• of East Pacific Coast Highway."
Said portion of Clubhouse Drive to be vacated and
abandoned is shown on a certain map entitled Exhibit "A" prepared
by the City of Newport Beach Public Works Department dated
January 17, 1978, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference.
SECTION 2. The proceedings for the vacation and
abandonment of said portion of Clubhouse Drive are taken pursuant
to, and the City Council of the City of Nepwort Beach elects
to proceed under the provisions of, the "Public Service Easement
Vacation Law" and all amendments thereto, being Sections 50430
to 50445, inclusive, of the California Government Code.
SECTION 3. The Public Works Director of the City of
Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
portion of said property proposed to be vacated and abandoned,
not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, and not less than
three (3) in all, notices of the vacation and abandonment of
said property. The notices shall state the passage of this
Resolution of Intention and the time and place of the hearing
before the City Council of all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation and abandonment. Said notice shall be
posted at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing.
SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that the City Council
• of the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday, the 10th
day of April, 1978, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. on said day in
the Council Chambers located in the City Hall of the City of
Newport Beach at 3300 Newport Boulevard, Newport Beach, California,

as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment of said portion
of Clubhouse Drive.
SECTION 5. A notice of the hearing hereinabove set,
giving the date, time and place of said hearing, shall be
published by the City Clerk in the official newspaper of the
City once each week for at least two (2) successive weeks prior
to said hearing.
