A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE INTER-
. CITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the Inter -City Relations Committee is
composed of representatives from the Cities of Newport Beach,
Irvine and Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, the Inter -City Relations Committee was
established in an effort to provide for cooperation and coordi-
nation between these jurisdictions in the development and
implementation of common goals and objectives; and
WHEREAS, Coastline Community College is an institution
which offers recreationally- oriented classes which are often
similar in many respects to recreational programs offered by
area cities; and
WHEREAS, Coastline Community College has indicated an
interest in periodically meeting with city representatives in
an effort to provide effective coordination among these diverse
recreational programs, and to insure that duplication of services
does not occur;,and
WHEREAS, the Inter -City Relations Committee appears
to be an appropriate forum during which such periodic discus-
sions could occur;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following
additional duties and responsibilities are established for the
• Inter -City Relations Committee:
Meet as may be required with representatives from
Coastline Community College inviting, also, the Parks, Beaches
and Recreation Director of the City of Newport Beach, in order
to explore possible cooperative recreational programs and
activities, and to discuss common goals and objectives.
