RESOLUTION NO. 9447
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION 3
WHEREAS, Proposition 3, a legislative constitutional
amendment, will appear on the ballot at the state -wide election
to be held on November 7, 1978; and
WHEREAS, said Proposition 3 would allow the Legisla-
ture to authorize the selling of state -owned surplus coastal
property at less than fair market value to certain specified
environmental entities; and
WHEREAS, there are 66 parcels of property located
within the coastal zone which have been declared surplus by
the State Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for all Californians
to have this state coastal surplus property sold for parks,
beaches, or wildlife preserves,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach wishes to go on record in support
of Proposition 3 for the reasons stated herein.
