A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
is OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING RHINE WHARF PARK
AS AN AUTHORIZED BOAT LAUNCHING AND HAULING
SITE FOR MARCH 14 AND 15, 1980, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE ROBERT P. WARMINGTON OFFSHORE POWER
BOAT RACE
WHEREAS, the organizers of the Robert P. Warmington
Offshore Power Boat Race have requested that vessels be
launched and hauled over Rhine Wharf Park seawall; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.16.020 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that such launching and hauling may
be permitted over a public seawall only by resolution of the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the appli-
cation for launching and hauling over the Rhine Wharf Park
seawall and finds that it is appropriate to designate March 14
and 15, 1980, as an appropriate time to permit the launching
and hauling of vessels in conjunction with the Robert P.
Warmington Offshore Power Boat Race to be held on March 15,
1980; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there
is no possibility that the Offshore Power Boat Race could have
a significant effect on the environment and is therefore
exempt from CEQA,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby designates the Rhine Wharf
Park public
seawall as
a boat
launching
and hauling
area
for
March 14 and
15, 1980,
and for
boats in
conjunction
with
the

Robert P. Warmington Offshore Power Boat Race only. The
hours of launching shall only be between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on said days. Vessels other than vessels
intended to race in said Offshore Power Boat Race shall not
be permitted to be launched over said seawall.
