A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AN
ALLOWANCE OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS
PER MONTH, ADJUSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, TO THE MAYOR
IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 404 OF THE
CHARTER

WHEREAS, Section 404 of the City Charter provides
that in addition to the reimbursement for expenses as a Council-
man under Section 402B, the City Council may provide by resolu-
tion for the payment to the Mayor of an allowance of not
exceeding One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month to
reimburse her for the additional expenses incurred by her in
serving as Mayor; and
WHEREAS, on April 15, 1980, the City Council
appointed a new Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of paying the
Mayor the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month
as provided for in Section 404 of the Charter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor be allowed the sum
of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month, adjusted
annually in accordance with the Consumer Price Index, during
her term as Mayor, beginning April 15, 1980, to reimburse her
for the additional demands made upon her and expenses incurred
by her in serving as Mayor, in accordance with Section 404 of
the Newport Beach City Charter.
ADOPTED this 15th day of April , 1980.
