A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES AND OTHER MAT-
TERS AND DESIGNATING AN OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER
FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICES, AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 9577
WHEREAS, Section
Charter provides that the
inviting bids and contract
and other matters required
general circulation in the

7ity Council shall publish a notice
for the publication of legal notices
to be published in a newspaper of
City during the ensuing fiscal year;
WHEREAS, the City Council has published such notices
and bids have been received in accordance therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has analyzed said bids and
determined to make the award as hereinafter provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the bid of Newport
Ensign be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and hereby are authorized and directed to execute a contract
in accordance with this award for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1980; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Newport Ensign
is hereby designated the official newspaper for the publication
of legal notices and other matters required to be published for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1980;_ and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Daily Pilot
is hereby designated as the alternate official newspaper for the
publication of legal notices and other matters required to be
published for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1980, to be
used only if Newport Ensign is unable to timely
publish legal notices and other matters required to be published
due to publication dates, failure of equipment, or similar
causes; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 9577 is
hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 27th day of May , 1980.
