A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
• CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RESCINDING RESOLU-
TION NO. 9678 REGARDING THE PRESERVATION
OF LAKE TAHOE
•
WHEREAS, on November 12, 1979, the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 9678
regarding the preservation of Lake Tahoe; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received recent
information from the City of South Lake Tahoe regarding
development potentials and limits at Lake Tahoe; and
WHEREAS, upon review of said information, the
City Council deems it appropriate to rescind Resolution No.
9678 which calls for the creation of a Lake Tahoe National
Recreation Area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the City of Newport Beach
hereby rescinds its Resolution No. 9678 and no longer supports
the position of the National League of Cities in regards to
the Lake Tahoe National Recreation Area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and directed to transmit copies of this
Resolution to all appropriate parties interested and involved
in the Lake Tahoe National Recreation Area federal legislation.
