A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DIRECTING THE
TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO DESIIGNATE TWO PARKING
STALLS NEAR THE NEWPORT PIER FOR HANDI-
CAPPED PARKING
WHEREAS, Section 12.46.030 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides the City Council may direct the Traffic
Engineer to designate spaces on City-owned or - controlled
of£street parking facilities for the exclusive use of physically
handicapped persons whose vehicles display a distinguishing
placard or license plate issued pursuant to the California
Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, such designation shall be made by posting a
sign immediately adjacent to and visible from each stall or
space; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it
is appropriate to designate two parking stalls in the oceanfront
parking lot for handicapped parking, which stalls shall be adja-
cent to the Dory Fleet area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the City Traffic Engineer is
hereby directed and authorized to designate two parking stalls in
the oceanfront parking lot, adjacent to the Dory Fleet, as off -
street parking facilities for the exclusive use of physically
handicapped persons, pursuant to Section 12.46.030 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code.

IT FURTHER
RESOLVED the
City Traffic Engineer
shall
perform all
other duties
as required
by Section 12.46.030
of the
f
Newport Beach Municipal Code, including the posting of signs and
such other means to identify said spaces as are appropriate.
