A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE "YES ON CITY
BALLOT MEASURE L" AD HOC COMMITTEE AND SETTING
FORTH THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THAT
COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, City Ballot Measure L will be considered by
the voters of the City of Newport Beach at the general election
in November, 1980; and
WHEREAS, City Ballot Measure L will permit the
alteration of the existing Corona del. Mar Freeway Agreement to
reflect current engineering and traffic needs and plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
supports City Ballot Measure L to be considered by the voters in
November of 1980; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to appoint a "Yes On City
Ballot Measure L" Ad Hoc Committee to assist in disseminating
information to the voters of the City of Newport Beach in regards
to City Ballot Measure L and explaining the advantages of City
Ballot Measure L; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of this Resolution to estab-
lish the responsibilities and objectives of the Yes On City
Ballot Measure L Ad Hoc Committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the duties and responsibilities of
the Yes On City Ballot Measure L Ad Hoc Committee shall be as
follows:
1. The Yes On City Ballot Measure L Ad Hoc Committee
shall consist of seven (7) members, appointed by the Mayor.

2. A quorum shall consist of one -half (1/2) plus one (1)
of any currently serving membership, but not less than three (3),
persons eligible to vote.
3. The Committee shall meet at the call of the chairman
who shall be appointed by the Committee.
4. The Committee shall appoint any necessary working
subcommittees.
5. The Committee shall have the primary responsibility
to educate the voters of the City of Newport Beach on the advan-
tages of voting "yes" on City Ballot Measure L at the general
election to be held in November, 1980.
6. The Committee shall have the authority to raise
money, prepare and disseminate election materials promoting City
Ballot Measure L.
7. The term of existence of this Committee shall be
through November, 1980, and shall automatically sunset at the end
of November, 1980.
8. The Committee shall be responsible for providing
necessary reporting on financial contributions made to the
Committee.
