A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
BICYCLE AND /OR PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED
UNDER SB 821 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR HIS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR THE FUNDS AND TO ACT AS THE
CITY'S CONTACT PERSON
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that two percent (2%) of each
county's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually
and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and
pedestrian system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct
the bikeway and pedestrian system improvements within the City
utilizing the funding available under SB 821,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. To apply for all funds available to the City of
Newport Beach allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities;

2. To authorize the City Manager or his designated
representative as the City's authorized signature and desigated
contact person.
ADOPTED this 27th day of October , 1980.
