A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF
POLICE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CALIFORNIA
WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM (CWPP) AND TO
EXECUTE STANDARD AGREEMENTS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the California Department of Justice

WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Justice,
requires that written witness protection agreements be executed
by any agency participating in the CWPP prior to the disbursement
of any funds for the protection of witnesses,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Chief of Police of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby authorized and directed to participate in
the California Witness Protection Program in all appropriate
cases to the end that witnesses and their families are fully pro-
tected; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the
_ City of Newport Beach is hereby authorized to execute written
,-Raw standard agreements required by the California Department of
Justice in order to claim and obtain reimbursement of funds
expended for the protection of witnesses and /or their families.
