AMENDING SECTION VI,
PARAGRAPH 602.10
OF RESOLUTION
NO. 8875
(PERSONNEL POLICIES)
TO ESTABLISH
THE RATE OF
$0.21 PER MILE FOR USE
OF :PERSONAL
AUTOMOBILES
ON CITY BUSINESS
WHEREAS, in August, 1976, Resolution No. 8875 was
adopted which Resolution established City of Newport Beach
Personnel Policies; and
WHEREAS, Compensation Plan, Section VI, Paragraph
601.10 of said Personnel Policies provided for compensation to
employees for use of private vehicles at the rate of $0.15 per
mile; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the
reimbursement for employees using their personal vehicles while
performing City business should be increased from $0.15 per mile
to $0.21 per mile to reflect increased costs of fuel and
maintenance,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach amends the reimbursement paid to City
employees using their personal vehicles while engaged in City
business, to reflect said increases in fuel and maintenance and,
that Section VI, Paragraph 601.10 be amended to read as per
attached Exhibit "A ". —
ADOPTED this 14th day of September, 1981.

EXHIBIT A
Compensation for Use of Private Vehicle:
Employees are authorized compensation for use of their private
vehicles while traveling on City business. Within a radius of
One Hundred (100) miles, reimbursement will be made at the rate
of Twenty -One (21) Cents per mile for the actual business
• mileage travelled. Beyond the One Hundred (100) mile radius,
reimbursement will be made at air coach fare, economy fare,
or Twenty -One (21) Cents per mile, whichever is the least
expensive.
