A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
• COMMERCIAL MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS FOR JANITORIAL
SERVICES AT CITY HALL, THE CITY YARD COMPLEX,
PLANNING & BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY
COUNCIL CHAMBERS AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO. 9968
WHEREAS, pursuant to the proposals received for work in
connection with the janitorial services at City Hall, the City
yard complex, the Planning & Building department and the City
Council chambers, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is COMMERCIAL MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS; and
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of January, 1981, the City
Council adopted Resolution No. 9968 which awarded the janitorial
services contract to Western Counties Maintenance Company, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, the previous janitorial services contract with
Western Counties Maintenance Company, Inc, will expire on
December 31, 1981; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach proposals for the contract and the
lowest bidder on this project is COMMERCIAL MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS;
and

WHEREAS, after review of the terms and conditions by
• the City Council, said proposal is found to be fair and
equitable.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the proposal from COMMERCIAL
MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS in the amount of $2,852.00 PER MONTH be and
hereby is accepted, and that the contract for the described work
• (Contract No. 2311) be awarded to said bidder, effective January
4, 1982; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 9968 be and
hereby is rescinded, effective December 31, 1981.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract in
accordance with the terms and conditions therein agreed to on
behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and that the City Clerk be
directed to furnish an executed copy, to the successful bidder.
