• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
SUBMIT TO THE CITY ATTORNEY SUBJECT BALLOT
MEASURE FOR PREPARATION OF AN IMPARTIAL
ANALYSIS THEREON (TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX
ISSUE)
WHEREAS, Elections Code Section 5011 provides that the
City Council may authorize the City Clerk to transmit a Ballot
Measure to the City Attorney, for purposes of preparing an im-
partial analysis thereon; and
WHEREAS, if the City Council exercises this option, the
City Attorney is to prepare an :impartial analysis of subject
Ballot Measure, showing the effect of the measure on existing law
and the operation of the measure.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND DIRECT the City Clerk of the
City of Newport Beach to take whatever steps are necessary, with
regard to said Ballot Measure, in order that the City Attorney
shall prepare an impartial analysis of said measure, for the
election of June 8, 1982.
ADOPTED this 25th day of JIanuary r 1982.
