HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-68 - Records Destruction Building DepartmentRESOLUTION NO. 82 -68 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS IN THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, there are certain. records, documents, instruments, books and papers in the Building Department which are no longer required for any City business and are ready for destruction, pursuant to the Building Department's approved Records Retention Schedule; and WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the California Government Code provides that the head of a City department, with the approval of the legislative body by Resolution and the written consent of the City Attorney, may destroy certain records without making a copy thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has provided written consent; and WHEREAS, none of the subject records are less than two years old. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the Building Department is hereby authorized to destroy and the City Council approves the destruction of the records itemized and described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Fee receipts if permit has been issued. 3. Water heater and softener permits over two years old. 4. Site plans.attached to permit, if a complete plan is on file. 5. Pre -pool investigation reports. 6. Planning Department modifications and variances. 7. Site Debris and Completion receipts, if refunded. 8. Job final checklist cards. 9. Demand for Payments. 10. Expired or superseded correspondence.
