A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF
• GENERAL SERVICES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
PURCHASE SIX RADIO SCANNERS AND ANTENNAE ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, AND
DIRECTING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO SIGN AND
DELIVER ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, Section 14814 of the Government Code provides,
among other things, for the Department of General Services to
make purchases of materials, equipment or supplies, on behalf of
any City empowered to expend public funds for the acquisition of
property; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department of the City of
Newport Beach has received requisitions from various departments
within the City for the purchase of certain radio scanners and
antennae; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent for the City of Newport
Beach has determined that the lowest price for said equipment is
available from the California Department of General Services; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of General Services
requires said order to be approved by the governing body of the
local agency pursuant to Resolution.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby authorize the Office of
Procurement, Department of General Services of the State of
California to purchase six (6) radio scanners and antennae for
and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to Section
14814 of the Government Code;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Frank Clarke, Purchasing
Agent for the City of Newport Beach, be and hereby is, authorized
• and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other
documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that: the City Clerk be and
hereby is authorized and directed to certify a copy of the
foregoing Resolution, and forward same to the Purchasing Agent
for transmittal to the State of California.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and
