A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A "NO
PARKING /TOW AWAY ZONE" ON VIA OPORTO IN LIDO
VILLAGE EXTENDING FROM CENTRAL TO VIA LIDO
EXCEPT FOR COMMERCIAL LOADING ZONES AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 82 -45
• WHEREAS, Section 12.40.160 (d) and (e) of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code provides, among other things, that the City
Council may, by Resolution, establish areas in which no person
shall stop, stand or park a vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the existing "No Parking" designation in the
referred to area is insufficient, and considerable conjestion is
now caused by the parking of vehicles which limits access to said
area; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to prohibit parking, as
hereinafter provided, in order to facilitate the flow of traffic
and eliminate traffic hazards; and
WHEREAS, in order to deter violators, the Traffic
Affairs Committee has recommended to the City Council that the
following area be designated a "No Parking /Tow Away Zone."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following location be and
hereby is designated a "No Parking /Tow Away Zone ":
"Via Oporto extending from Central to Via
Lido with the exception of commercial
loading zones."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Traffic Engineer shall
erect all necessary signs to indicate said area as a "No
Parking /Tow Away Zone ".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 82 -45 be and
hereby is rescinded.
ADOPTED this 27th day of September , 1982.
