A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN
• APPLICATION TO ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION
OF GOVERNMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN
AND BIKEWAY FACILITIES; AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE
TO MARE SAID APPLICATION AND'ACT AS CONTACT
PERSON ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, SB -821 provides that two percent (2 %) of each
County's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside, annually,
and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and
pedestrian system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct
the bikeway and pedestrian system improvements within the City of
Newport Beach, utilizing the funding available under SB -821.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. To apply for all funds available to the City of
Newport Beach allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities;
and
2. To authorize the City Manager, or his designated
representative, as the City's authorized signatory and designated
contact person.
