• RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE PLANNING
COMMISSION INITIATE AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER
20.74 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
REGARDING ADULT ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESSES
WHEREAS, on or about November 1, 1980, the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach adopted an Ordinance regulating the
location of adult businesses within the City of Newport Beach;
and
WHEREAS, recent appellate court decisions regarding
ordinances similar to that adopted by the City of Newport Beach
have established precedent which necessitates amendment to the
exisiting adult business ordinance; and
WHEREAS, provisions of the! zoning code of the City of
Newport Beach require the adoption of a resolution declaring an
intent to amend that code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Planning Commission of the
City of Newport Beach is hereby requested to initiate an
amendment to Chapter 20.74 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code,
all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 20.84 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code.
