RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH SELECTING G & W'TOWING COMPANY AS AN
• OFFICIAL POLICE TOW TRUCK SERVICE OPERATOR, ISSUING
A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY
THEREFORE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT THEREWITH
WHEREAS, Section 5.15.070 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code requires that an official police tow truck service
operator obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
therefor; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5.15.050 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code, a public hearing was held by the City
Council for the selection of official police tow truck service
operators; and
WHEREAS, G & W Towing submitted an Application to the
City of Newport Beach for designation as an official police tow
truck service operator; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
an Agreement between the City of Newport Beach and G & W Towing,
regarding official police tow truck services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of said Application and has found them to be fair and
equitable and in the best interests of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that G &.64 Towing be and hereby is
designated as an official police tow service operator for the
City of Newport Beach and that there be issued to G & W Towing a
Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity, for the
operation thereof, all in accordance with Sections 5.15.070 and
• 5,15.030 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Agreement for tow truck
services above - described are approved and the Mayor and City
Clerk be and hereby are authorized and directed to execute same
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
