A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING THE CURRENT PLANNING
ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AS THE
PERSON TO COORDINATE THE REVIEW AND DECISION
MAKING AND PROVIDE INFORMATION REGARDING THE
STATUS OF ALL PERMITS OR APPLICATIONS REQUIRED
BY THE CITY FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT.
• WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has adopted a Housing Element in
conformance with Article 10.6 of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Element contains an evaluation of governmental
constraint to the development process; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach recognizes the benefit of a person
to coordinate the review of and provide information regarding the status of
all permits or applications required by the City for residential development;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach wishes to remove governmental
constraints from the development process and maximize the efficiency of that
permit process; and
WHEREAS, the State Legislature also recognizes the need to coordinate
the development process as described in Section 65913.3 of the Government
Code,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Newport Beach
designates the Current Planning Administrator of the Planning Department as
the person to coordinate the review and decision making and provide
information regarding the status of all permits or applications required by
the City relating to the construction of housing.
