RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE
UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS
NEWPORT BEACH, COUNTY OF ORA
DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO. 89

WHEREAS, on March 28, 1983, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach approved Resolution No. 83 -22 of the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Orange County (LAFCO) , approving
the annexation of Harbor Ridge (a /k /a San Joaquin Reservoir)
Annexation No. 89 to the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the property owner has heretofore requested
that Harbor Ridge (a /k /a San Joaquin Reservoir) Annexation No. 89
be approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County (LAFCO) for annexation to the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of
Orange County (LAFCO) has heretofore approved the annexation of
that territory, described in Annexation No. 89 as Harbor Ridge
(a /k /a San Joaquin Reservoir) , to the City of Newport Beach, and
authorized said City to annex said territory after affording the
single, private, property owner of land within the territory to
be annexed, the opportunity to appear before the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach to protest said annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the annexation to the City of
Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, of that
certain uninhabited territory be and hereby is approved to be
annexed to and made a part of the City of Newport Beach, County
of Orange, State of California; said territory is known and
• designated as Annexation No. 89 - Harbor Ridge (a /k /a San Joaquin
Reservoir) and is more particularly described on that legal
description attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A ", and further
depicted on that certain map attached hereto and marked Exhibit
"B ", both documents which are incorporated herein by reference as
though fully set forth at length herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the boundary of the City of
Newport' Beach, County of Orange, State of California be and the
• same is hereby altered to include the above - described territory
into the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proceedings for annexa-
tion herein approved are had and taken under and pursuant to the
Provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California, designated and referred to as "The Municipal
Organization Act of 1977. (Section 35000 et seq of the
Government Code)

HARBOR RIDGE ANNEXATION NO. 89 TO THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
That portion of Block 97 of Irvine's Subdivision, in the County
Of Orange, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 1, page
88 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said County, more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the boundary line of the City of Newport
Beach, being on the northerly line of Annexation No. 82 to the City
of Newport Beach, adopted May 23, 1977 by the City Council
thereof as Resolution No-9096 said point being distant along said
northerly line North 89 059'43" East 56.00 feet from the westerly
terminus of the course described as "North 89 °59'43" East 163.15
_. feet ", said point also being an angle point in the generally south
easterly.line of Annexation No. 81 to the City of Newport Beach,
adopted June 9, 1975 by the City Council thereof as Resolution No.
8508, and also being an angle point in the southeasterly line of
Lot 8 of Tract No. 9858, as per map recorded in Book 436, pages
1 through 7 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County,
California; thence leaving the boundary line of said Annexation No.
82 and along the boundary lines of said Annexation No. 81 and of
said Lot 8 of Tract No. 9858 the following courses:
North 175.00 feet; Ok
North 57 050'47" East 45.91 feet;
North 11 030117" East 115.32 feet;
North 29 020116" East 157.16 feet; and
North 64 003128" East 41.15 feet;
thence, leaving the boundary lines of said Annexation No. 81 and of
said Lot 8 of Tract No. 9858, South 52 046'26" East 126.93 feet; and
South 02 030'00" East 391.00 feet to a point on the easterly prolong-
ation of the aforesaid northerly line of Annexation No. 82 described
as "North 89 059143" East 163.15 feet "; thence westerly along said
easterly prolongation and along said northerly line of Annexation
No. 82, South 89 059143" West 294.00 feet to the True Point of
Beginning.
Containing 2.437 Acres.
Attached and made a part of is a map designated as EXHIBIT "B ".
