RESOLUTION NO. 83 -55
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH CREATING THE CITY COUNCIL
BALBOA BAY CLUB AD HOC COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Balboa Bay Club has requested the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach to create an Ad Hoc
Committee to review, among other things, the existing lease for
the Balboa Bay Club and report to the City Council concerning the
modification and /or renewal of said lease; and
WHEREAS, the existing lease on the Balboa Bay Club
expires on August 31, 1998, and representatives of the Balboa Bay
Club believe that several provisions in the lease are ambiguous;
and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate review of the existing
lease, the City Council wishes to create the City Council Balboa
Bay Club Ad Hoc Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that there is hereby created the City
Council Balboa Bay Club Ad Hoc Committee, whose duties and
responsibilities shall be as follows:
1. Duties: The Committee shall meet with
representatives of the Balboa Bay Club to review the current Bay
Club lease and report to the City Council with respect to the
modification and /or renewal of said lease;
2. Membership: The Committee shall consist of two
members of the City Council appointed by the Mayor, with the
Mayor being an Ex- officio member with full voting rights. Staff
will be provided to the Committee as requested by the Committee;

3. Meetings: The Committee shall meet at the call of
the Chairman, with said Chairman being appointed by the Mayor;
4. Termination: The Committee shall submit its report
to the City Council within one year and shall, therefore,
terminate upon the submission of the report or within the one
year period, whichever is sooner, unless the term is extended by
the City Council.
