RESOLUTION NO. 83 -56
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH CREATING A JOINT CITY COUNCIL /PLANNING COMMISSION/
PARKS, BEACHES & RECREATION COMMISSION AD HOC COMMITTEE
TO REVIEW, MONITOR AND PROVIDE INPUT TO THE CONSULTANT
ON REVISIONS TO THE RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach desires that
a comprehensive review and revision of the Recreation and Open Space Element
of the General Plan be conducted; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that City Council, Planning Commission, and
Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission provide input to the consultant and
review and monitor the project at various stages in the planning process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that an Ad Hoc Committee is hereby established.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the functions, duties, and composition
of the Committee shall be as follows:
1. The Committee shall consist of the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem,
two (2) City Council members, two (2) Planning Commissioners, and two (2)
members of the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission, appointed by the
Mayor. Staff support shall be provided by the Planning and Parks, Beaches
and Recreation Departments.
2. The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the con-
sultant which has been retained by the City to revise the Recreation and Open_
Space Element of the General Plan and will meet periodically through the
duration of the project to review early data and interim work products and to
provide feedback to the consultant at various times in the planning process.
3. The existence of the Committee shall be reviewed in the
October 1983 review of City Council Committees by the City Council.
