• RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES OF
MANAGEMENT AND OTHER KEY EMPLOYEES FOR THE
1983 - 84 FISCAL YEAR AND AMENDING THE
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN TO
REFLECT SAID CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has the authority, under the Newport Beach City Charter, to
establish the salaries of the City Manager, City Attorney and
City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended certain
salary adjustments for management and other key employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes that, effective June
25, 1983, the salaries of management and other key personnel
shall be as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in addition to the salary
scheduled attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A ", the City shall
pay to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) Seven
Percent (7.0 %) of the Miscellaneous Members, or Nine Percent
(9.08) of the Safety Members employees' contribution to said
system. Said retirement pickup shall be credited to the
employees' individual account with.PERS; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Classification and
Compensation Plan be amended to reflect said changes.
ADOPTED this 27th day of June 1983.
