• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH ADOPTING AND APPROVING THE 183 SUPPLEMENT TO THE
"STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION"
PUBLICATION OF 1982 AND APPROVING THE '84 SUPPLEMENT
THERETO
WHEREAS, The Standard Specifications for Public Works
Construction (Standard Specifications) has been written and
promulgated since 1967 by the American Public Works Association
and the Associated General Contractors; and
WHEREAS, the Standard Specifications is now public law
in more than 160 cities, counties and governmental agencies; and
WHEREAS, new editions of these specifications are
published and submitted for adoption every three years; and
WHEREAS, between publications, the specifications may
be amended by approving supplements thereto to keep the City
abreast of the most recent changes in general provisions,
construction materials and construction methods in public works
construction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach is desirous of and does hereby adopt
and approve the 1983 supplement to the Standard Specifications
for Public Works Construction published in December, 1982 and
approves the 1984 supplement thereto upon publication.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of August , 1983.
