• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION FOR
PEDESTRIAN AND BIKEWAY FACILITIES (RE 183 -184 SB 821
FUNDING PROGRAM)
WHEREAS, SB -821 provides that two percent (2 %) of each
County's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually
and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and
pedestrian system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct
the bikeway and pedestrian system improvements within the City of
Newport Beach as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, shall apply to the Orange County
Transportation Commission and Southern California Association of
Governments, as follows:
1. Apply for all funds available to the City of Newport
Beach which are allocated for bikeways and pedestrian
facilities; and
2. Authorize the City Manager, or his designated
representative, as the City's authorized signatory and
designated contact person.
