HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-50 - Ambulance Service Base, Mileage and Stand-By RatesRESOLUTION NO. 96 --5Q A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SETTING THE MAXIMUM BASE, MILEAGE AND STAND -BY RATES FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 93 -70. • WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Resolution 96 -42 approving paramedic service fees which include emergency ambulance transportation services; and C WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 96 -42 established a schedule of rates for all emergencies requiring emergency ambulance transportation services applicable to all ambulance operators as identified in Section 5.14.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, a study has subsequently been conducted regarding the base, mileage, emergency and stand -by rates charged by the ambulance services presently operating across the State; and WHEREAS, Section 5.14.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that the City Council may, on its own motion, hold a hearing at any time for the purpose of determining whether previously approved ambulance rate schedules should be changed; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing after giving notice thereof in accordance with the requirements of said Section 5.14.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, and has considered the testimony of all interested parties and all relevant evidence presented at said public hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Newport Beach City Council: That the maximum rates in the uniform ambulance rate schedule are hereby authorized: Orange City of City of County Npt.
