HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-86 - Certifying That the City has the Resources to Fund the Projects Submitted for Inclusion in the 2015 Federal Transportation Improvements Program Within FFY 2014/15 - 2019/20 and Affirms It's Commitment to Implement All Projects in the ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 2013-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY HAS THE RESOURCES TO FUND THE PROJECTS SUBMITTED FOR INCLUSION IN THE 2015 FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WITHIN FFY 2014/15 — 2018/20 AND AFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO IMPLEMENT ALL PROJECTS IN THE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is located within the metropolitan planning boundaries of the Southern California Association of Governments; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to include the Eastbluff Drive /Ford Road Class II Bike Lane Project and Newport Beach Class II Bike Lane Improvement Project in the Orange County Transportation Authority's (OCTA) 2015 Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP ); and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is able to commit funding for the City's share as required and accepts responsibility to fully implement submitted projects; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is the lead agency for projects and will comply with applicable local, state, and federal provisions including the Federal Transportation Improvement Program, California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Buy America; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach agrees to the Eastbluff Drive /Ford Road Class 11 Bike Lane Project and Newport Beach Class II Bike Lane Improvement Project as shown in the 2015 FTIP; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach possesses legal authority to submit the projects for inclusion in the FTIP and to finance and construct the projects; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to finance and construct projects as noted in the FTIP in a timely manner. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach resolves as follows: Section 1: The Recitals provided above are true and correct and are incorporated into the substantive portion of this resolution. Section 2: The City Council does hereby affirm the City's commitment to the projects submitted in the 2015 Federal Transportation Improvement Program. Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting the resolution.
