• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR
MANAGEMENT AND OTHER KEY EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1997 -98 AND AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION
AND COMPENSATION PLAN TO REFLECT SAID CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has the
Authority, under Newport Beach City Charter, to establish salaries for
employees; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager has recommended certain salary
adjustments for Department Directors and for management and other key
employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach hereby establishes, effective the first pay period of July, 1997,
that the salaries for Department Directors, management and other key personnel
• employees may be adjusted by the City Manager within a total cap of 4% of
current salaries.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's Classification and
Compensation Plan shall be amended to reflect these changes.
ADOPTED this 14th day of July, 1997.

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council is seven; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 97 -61, was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by the
City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 14th
day of July, 1997, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: O'Neil, Thomson, Edwards, Hedges, Glover, Noyes, and Mayor Debay
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
