A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH MODIFYING THE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNCIL /CITIZENS
AD HOC AVIATION COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach created the
Council /Citizens Ad Hoc Aviation Committee (Aviation Committee) by adoption of
Resolution 9597 in 1979; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has frequently modified the duties and membership of
the Aviation Committee to respond to new issues and to expand the role of Newport
Beach residents in developing recommendations on aviation related matters; and
WHEREAS, the City has recently completed the annexation of the planned
communities known as Newport Coast and Newport Ridge and the City Council has
committed to appointing a resident of this newly annexed area as a member of the
Aviation Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach amends the provisions of Resolution 98 -15 pertaining to the
membership of the Aviation Committee as follows:
1. Two (2) members of the Newport Beach City Council;
2. The City Manager or his /her designee;
3. The City Attorney or his /her designee;
4. One appointee from each of the seven Council districts to be appointed by the
member of the City Council that was nominated from the district;
5. One alternate to each appointee to be appointed by each member of the City
Council;
6. The current President of the Airport Working Group (AWG) or his /her designee;
7. A resident of the area (commonly known as Newport Ridge /Newport Coast) that
was annexed to the City effective January 1, 2002 to be appointed by the Mayor.
ADOPTED this 8th day of January 2002.

I, LAVONNE M. HARKLESS, City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council is seven; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 2002 -7 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by the
City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 8th day
of January, 2002, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: Heffernan, Bromberg, Glover, Adams, Proctor, Mayor Ridgeway
Noes: None
Absent: O'Neil
Abstain: None
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the
