A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING INTERSECTIONS
WHERE VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP: BLUE GUM
LANE; WESTCLIFF DRIVE AND EVENING CANYON
ROAD; AND DIRECTING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO
ERECT AND MAINTAIN ALL NECESSARY SIGNS THEREAT
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides, among other things, that whenever any
ordinance or resolution of this City, designates and describes any
street or portion thereof as a through street or any intersection
at which vehicles are required to stop, at one or more entrances
thereto, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect and maintain stop

signs,on each and every street intersecting such through street
or portion thereof so designated; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Affairs Committee has recommended
to the City Council that due to physical conditions which
restrict sight distances, traffic should be required to stop and
necessary stop signs posted at the following locations:
Evening Canyon Road at Seaward Road
Blue Gum Lane at Westcliff Drive
Grove Lane at Westcliff Drive
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, that the locations referred to above
be and hereby are designated as locations at which vehicles are
required to stop.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
be and hereby is directed to erect and maintain all necessary
signs at the above locations.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of January , 1984
