A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE-CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND USE
AND RESIDENTIAL GROWTH ELEMENTS OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN FOR THE
METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT SITE AND THE
ACCEPTANCE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT
(GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 83 -1(b)
0 WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the City's
General Plan, the Land Use and Residential Growth Elements have been prepared;
and
WHEREAS, said elements of the General Plan set forth objectives and
supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development of the City
of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of
Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing to consider
certain amendments to the above referenced elements of the Newport Beach
General Plan, and adopted Resolution No. 1111 recommending to the City Council
certain changes and amendments in said elements; and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study has been prepared in compliance with the
California Environmental Quality Act, and the CEQA Guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that amendments to the Land Use and Residential Growth Elements
be approved as follows:
1. Amend the Land Use Element to designate the Metropolitan
Water District Site, annexed to the City by Annexation
No. 89, for Low - Density Residential use on the Land Use
Plan (map).
2. Amend the Residential Growth Element to reflect changes
in Statistical Division M and show the site for Low-
Density Residential on the Residential Growth Plan (map).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Environmental Document be accepted.
ADOPTED this 12th day of March 1984.
