A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH RESCINDNG RESOLUTION NO. 84 -2
WHICH AUTHORIZED AN INCREASE IN THE WATER
QUANTITY RATE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 14.12.090 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code, which provides for an automatic water rate
adjustment based upon increases in the quantitiy charge from the
Metropolitan Water District, the City Council at its regularly
scheduled public hearing on January 9, 1984, adopted Resolution
No. 84 -2; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 84 -2 authorized an increase in
the water quantitiy rate from $0.77 to $1.00 per 100 cubic feet;
and
WHEREAS, the authorized increased rate, pursuant to
Resolution No. 84 -2, has not been implemented; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District has supplied
additional, supplemental information, concerning charges to the
City for City purchases of water, which the Utilities Department
staff has determined warrants rescision of Resolution No. 84 -2,
so as to permit continuation of the current charge of $0.77 per
100 cubic feet; and
WHEREAS, Utilities Department staff has determined that
a water quantity rate adjustment is called for, but is, and
should be, satifactorily addressed in Ordinance No. 84 -14
which is apparently presented to the City Council for
introduction.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that Resolution No. 84 -2 is hereby
• rescinded. ADOPTED this 23rd day of April 1984.
