A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO
THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
AND SOUTHERN CLIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF
GOVERNMENTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN
AND BIKEWAY FACILITIES RE '84 - '85 SB 821
FUNDING PROGRAM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.
83 -101
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that two percent (2 %) of each
County's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually
and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and
pedestrian system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct
the bikeway and pedestrian system improvements within the City of
Newport Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the City Manager or his designee
shall apply to the Orange County Transportation Commission and
Southern California Association of Governments, as follows:
I. Apply for all funds available to the City of
Newport Beach which are allocated for bikeways and pedestrian
facilities; and
II. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to act
as City's authorized signatory and designated contact person.
