HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-96 - Making Seashore Drive and 32nd Street One-Way Streets5 i RESOLUTION NO. 84 -96 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION 9540 DESIGNATING SEASHORE DRIVE AS ONE -WAY EASTBOUND TRAFFIC FROM 33RD STREET TO 32RD STREET AND MAKING 32ND ST. ONE -WAY NORTHBOUND FROM SEASHORE DRIVE TO BALBOA BOULEVARD WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this City designates any one -way street or alley, the City Traffic Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof; and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that when signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving notice thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle in a direction contrary thereto; and WHEREAS, Section 12.56.180 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this City designates any portion of a street or sidewalk as a bicycle lane, the City Traffic Engineer shall place! and maintain signs giving notice thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be reasonable and in the public interest to revise Resolution 9450 by adding certain streets in the City which should be designated one -way streets. WHEREAS, the streets hereinafter described should be designated as a one -way streets in order to facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the following streets are hereby designated as one -way streets: SEASHORE DRIVE ONE -WAY EASTBOUND FROM 33RD STREET TO 32ND STREET. 32ND STREET ONE -WAY NORTHBOUND FROM SEASHORE DRIVE TO BALBOA BOULEVARD. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said • streets to indicate the above designations.
