A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
PURCHASE FIVE (5) CASES OF AMMUNITION ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, AND
DIRECTING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO SIGN AND
DELIVER ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, Section 10324 of the Government Code provides,
among other things, for the Department of General Services of the
State of California to make purchases of materials, equipment or
supplies, on behalf of any City empowered to expend public funds
for the the aquisition of property; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department of the City of
Newport Beach has received requisitions from the Police
Department for the purchase of ammunition; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department of the City of
Newport Beach has determined that the lowest price for said
ammunition is available from the California Department of General
Services; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of General Services
requires said order to be approved by the governing body of the
local agency pursuant to Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby authorize the office of
Procurement, Department of General Services of the State of
California, to purchase five (5) cases of ammunition for and on
behalf of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to Section 10324 of
the Government Code;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Frank Clarke, Purchasing
Agent for the City of Newport Beach, be and hereby is, authorized
and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other
• documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and
hereby is authorized and directed to certify a copy of the
foregoing Resolution, and forward scene to the Purchasing Agent
for transmittal to the State of California.
