HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-44 - Stop Signs at Various IntersectionsRESOLUTION NO. 85 -44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY • OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUIRING VEHICLES TO STOP AT SPECIFIED APPROACHES TO THE FOLLOWING INTERSECTIONS WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides, among other things, that whenever any ordinance or resolution of this City designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a through street, or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect and maintain stop signs on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there is a need for intersection control at 49th Street at River Avenue, O in the City of Newport Beach, that traffic on 49th Street should be required to stop at that location, and stop signs should be posted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, that the following described location is hereby designated as a location at which vehicles are required to stop: On Port Bristol at Newport Hills Dr. east; All approaches to Port Weybridge and Newport Hills Dr., east; All approaches to Eastgate and Newport Hills Dr. east; On Port Dunleigh at Newport Hills Dr. east; On Port Edward at Newport ]Hills Dr. east; All approaches to Port Stanhope and Newport Hills Dr. west; On Port Taggart at Newport Hills Dr. west; On Port Barmouth at Newport Hills Dr. west; On Port Westbourne at Newport Hills Dr. west; All appraoches to Port Margate and Newport Hills Dr. west; On Port Abbey at Newport Hills Dr. west. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer be and hereby is directed to erect and maintain all necessary signs at the above location.
