A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH CREATING AN AD HOC COMMITTEE
TO STUDY WHETHER THE CITY SHOULD ESTABLISH A
TEEN /YOUTH COMMISSION /COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Newport Beach that a City Council. Committee be formed, with
direction given to the Committee, to make recommendations to the
City Council on the feasibility of establishing a Teen or Youth
Commission /Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that an Ad Hoc Youth Com-
mission /Committee be and hereby is established.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the composition, function
and duties of the Committee shall be as follows:
1. Membership:
The Committee membership shall include two members
of the City Council appointed by the Mayor, and the Chairman of
the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission.
2. Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Committee
shall be to examine the feasibility of establishing a Teen or
Youth Commission /Committee and, if feasible, recomnend the
• specific duties, responsibilities, membership makeup, staffing
responsibilities, meeting frequency, and other characteristics of
a Commission /Committee. The Committee shall meet as called by
the Chairman. Said Chairman shall be appointed by the Mayor.
3. Termination:
The Committee shall sunset on January 31, 1986.
