RESOLUTION NO. 85 -89
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH PURSUANT TO REVIEW, MODIFYING
EXISTING RESOLUTIONS BY RESPECTIVELY
SUNSETTING AND EXTENDING TERMINATION DATES FOR
VARIOUS CITY BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COM-
MITTEES, AND ADDING ADDITIONAL RESPONSI-
BILITIES TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ADVISORY
COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, pursuant to council policy, at its meeting of
November 12, 1985, the City Council reviewed the various Boards,
Commissions and Committees for the City to determine necessary
changes; and
WHEREAS, as a result of such review, the City Council
has determined that the Resolutions establishing the various
Boards, Commissions and Committees require amendments to provide
for new termination dates; and
WHEREAS, the Resolutions establishing the following
groups require modification to provide for sunsetting of those
groups:
1. Aviation Committee as of December 31, 1985 -
Resolution Number 9597;
2. Ad Hoc Balboa Peninsula Zoning Committee on October
31, 1985 - Resolution Number 84 -116;
3. Cannery Village /McFadden Square Specific Area Plan
Committee on December 31, 1985 - Resolution Number 85 -65;
4. City Council Balboa ay Club Ad Hoc Committee on
December 31, 1985 - Resolution Number 83 -55;
5. Ad Hoc Corona del Mar Traffic Study Committee on
December 31, 1985 - Resolution Number 84 -1;
6. Ad Hoc Advisory Committee to the Tidelands Affairs
Committee on March 24, 1985 - Resolution Number 9215;
7. Citizens Traffic Advisory Committee (E -6) from the
Citizens Advisory Committees category - Resolution Number 82 -102;
8. Newport Beautification Advisory Committee (E -7) as
established by Resolution 82 -38 and Resolution 9504.
WHEREAS, the Resolutions establishing the following
groups require modification to provide for extending the
following groups:
1. Ad Hoc Cannery Village /McFadden Square Specific
Area Plan Review Committee to June 30, 1986 - Resolution Number
84 -78;
2. Ad Hoc Mariners Mile Specific Area plan Review
Committee to June 30, 1986 - Resolution Number 84 -36;

3. Ad Hoe Marinapark Mobile Home Committee to June 30,
1986 - Resolution Number 85 -57.
WHEREAS, the following changes are required to the
Council Standing Committee list, the Council /Citizens Ad Hoc
• Committees, the Joint Governmental Committees, the Citizens
Advisory Committees, and the City Staff Committees:
1. Modifications Committee (B -1) should be moved from
the Council Standing Committee category, placed under the City
Staff Committee category and renumbered as F -4;
2. The Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve Public
Policy Advisory Committee (D -15) should be deleted from the Joint
Governmental Committees category.
WHEREAS, the responsibilities and duties of the Newport
Beautification Advisory Committee (E -7) should be transferred to
the Environmental Quality Citizens Advisory Committee (E -3) with
the name of that Committee to be amended to read "Environmental
Quality /Beautification Citizens Advisory Committee."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Resolutions described above be
amended to provide termination dates, extension dates, and
changes to committees as hereinabove described.
