HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-96 - General Plan Amendment 85-1C Land Use ElementRESOLUTION NO. 85 -96 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN FOR 3901 EAST COAST HIGHWAY IN CORONA DEL MAR (GPA 85- 1(C)). • WHEREAS, Section 707 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach provides that the City Council, upon recommendation of the Planning Commission, may amend the General Plan, or any part or element, or map thereofs and WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the City's General Plan , the Land Use Element and Map have been prepared; and WHEREAS, said Element sets forth objectives and supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission and City Council held a public hearing to consider a certain amendment to the above referenced Element of the Newport Beach General Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach prepared an Initial Study and Negative Declaration in compliance with the California Environ- mental Quality Act, the State CEQA Guidelines and City Policy K -3; and WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed and considered the information contained in the Environmental Document in making its decision on the proposed amendment to the Newport Beach General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the Land Use Element and Map of the Newport General Plan be amended for certain property illustrated on Exhibit 1 attached hereto and located at 3901. East Coast Highway, Corona del Mar, as follows: • Change the land use designation from "Low Density Residen- tial" and "Retail and Service Commercial" to a mixture of "Multi - Family Residential" and "Administrative, Professional and Financial Commercial" with specific use limited to senior citizen housing facilities; with the direction that the property be re -zoned to the Planned Community District with a Use Permit as the Planned Community Development Plan. • Attest: City Clerk RES01 E ADOPTED this 9th day of December , 1985. - 2 - Ul EXHIBIT 1 Change the Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan designation from "Low Density Residential" and "Retail and Service Commercial" to a mixture of "Multi- Family Residential" and "Administrative, Professional and Financial Commercial" for specific use for senior citizen housing facili- ties] with the direction that the property be re -zoned to the Planned Community District with a Use Permit as the Planned Community Development Plan. w J w N Q 2 _T u%GNW p�Y J J J
