RESOLUTION NO. 87 -70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ORANGE COUNTY TO
CANVASS THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1987,
CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATEWIDE SCHOOL
DISTRICT ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has requested the Board of Supervisors to consolidate the special
municipal election in the City of Newport Beach with the
statewide school district election to be held on November 3,
1987; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the Registrar of Voters of
the County of Orange canvass the returns of the special municipal
election and the statewide election.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23306
of the Elections Code, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach hereby authorizes the Board of Supervisors to canvass the
returns of the special municipal election to be held on November
3, 1987, which will be consolidated with the statewide school
district election to be held on that date.
2. That said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested
to issue instructions to the Registrar of Voters to take any and
all steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated election
and canvass of returns.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with
the Board of Supervisors and Registrar of Voters of the County of
Orange.
