HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-137 - Traffic Signals at Coast Highway at Iris & Orchid AvenuesRESOLUTION NO. 87 -137 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONSIDER THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF COAST HIGHWAY AT IRIS AVENUE AND AT ORCHID AVENUE. WHEREAS, there is an increased level of regional traffic on Coast Highway through the community of Corona del Mar; and WHEREAS, it is difficult for pedestrians and motorists to cross or turn onto Coast Highway; and WHEREAS, Coast Highway is under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Transportation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, that the California Department of Transportation be requested to consider the installation of traffic signals as follows: Avenue. 1. On Coast Highway at the northerly leg of Iris 2. On Coast Highway at Orchid Avenue. ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1987. ATTEST: City Clerk 0
