A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN THE CITY AND
NEWPORT BEACH OCEAN LIFEGUARD ASSOCIATION ( NBOLA)
AND AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND
COMPENSATION PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, by
and through its designated representatives, has met and conferred
with the designated representatives of NEWPORT BEACH OCEAN
LIFEGUARD ASSOCIATION ( NBOLA) concerning salaries, benefits and
other terms and conditions of employment for fiscal year 1988-
89; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached agreement with respect
to the appropriate salaries, benefits and other terms and
conditions of employment for fiscal year 1988 -89; and
WHEREAS, the agreement with respect to appropriate
salaries, benefits, terms and conditions of employment for fiscal
year 1988 -89 has been reduced to writing in the MOU which is
attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A;" and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve the MOU and
authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the document.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby finds that the MOU attached to
this Resolution as Exhibit "A" reflects the agreement reached with
NBOLA with respect to the appropriate salaries, benefits and other
terms and conditions of employment for members of
,0, NBOLA for fiscal year 1988 -89; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign
the MOU.
